Princess and the Pea is owned by two sisters, Sarah and Amy. Our Mom and Dad inspired us and helped pick our store name. “Princess” comes from the meaning for “Sarah” and “Pea” is because Amy  loves to eat fresh garden peas.

Our Business was born in Sept 2002. We opened a kiosk in Southgate Centre selling Italian Charm Bracelets. In 2004, inspired by the birth of Amy’s son, Corbin, we opened another kiosk selling Baby Products. We called it Sweetpea (in keeping with our “pea” theme). This led to the dream of having a children's store.

In 2005, we closed our kiosk businesses. We both took time off to have a baby (Mya-Lily and Brandon) and prepare for the biggest production of our lives so far…..the opening of Princess and the Pea, a Children’s Boutique. After many sleepless nights, hours of planning and several trips to the U.S. , we opened the store on April 6, 2006. It is like having a baby …. More work than we imagined but more rewarding than we imagined!
